TORVEC CELEBRATES VERNON GLEASMAN'S BIRTHDAY BY OBTAINING ISO-TORQUE™ PATENT

ROCHESTER, NY (JULY 7, 2004) — Torvec, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: TOVC [Quote].OB - News) anannounced that it celebrated world famous inventor and company co-founder Vernon E. Gleasman's 92nd birthday by obtaining a US patent on its new Iso-Torque™ differential. The Iso-Torque™ is a significant improvement over Vernon's original paradigm-shifting differential that was first patented nearly 50 years ago, won the Schwitzer Award at the Indianapolis 500 in 1983, and which has become widely used by most of the world's major auto companies under the well-known Torsen® trademark. The new Iso-Torque™ differential increases the efficiency and strength of Vernon's industry-proven differential while at the same time reducing its size, weight and cost to manufacture. Management believes that neither the Torsen® nor any other limited-slip differential can be produced as cost effectively as the Iso-Torque™.

Torvec shareholders should be pleased that, unlike many other development companies where the shareholders own only a license to an inventor's technologies, Torvec shareholders actually own Torvec's complete portfolio of worldwide patented automotive properties, including the new Iso-Torque™ differential patent. It is also significant Torvec's Full Terrain Vehicle (FTV™) will require and be fitted with two Iso-Torque™ differentials.

Torvec also announced that it has acquired a fully loaded 2004 GM Tahoe SUV, and is rapidly moving to complete its announced plan to install its infinitely variable transmission in the Tahoe and test for fuel efficiencies. The company has leased a facility which provides a state of the art industry accepted Mustang dynomometer to commence installation and testing.

Torvec also announced that a completely redesigned corporate web site at http://www.torvec.com will be operational by July 15.
