The 1920's

The history of invention begins in 1928 when, as a 16 year old in Upstate New York, Vernon Gleasman designed and built his own snowmobile. While no one would mistake this vehicle for one of today's sporty recreational snowmobiles, Gleasman's breakthrough vehicle was the first of his many practical engineering solutions to everyday problems; in this case, difficult conditions on the farm in the Adirondacks.
