Another Giant Leap

January 4, 2007

On December 18, 2006, we announced that Torvec had been engaged by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to conduct a feasibility study as to the integration of six of Torvec’s infinitely variable transmissions(IVT) and IsoTorque differentials in the next generation Lunar Rover.

As a result of our revenue-producing arrangment with NASA, Torvec has developed a modified version of its IVT so that it can function in the Lunar Rover. This development was accomplished by our engineers at an incredibly, NASA requested accelerated pace, as we promised NASA officials.

Today, we were given permission by NASA to showcase this truly unique transmission at our shareholders meeting to be held on Thursday, January 25, 2007. Thereafter, the transmission will undergo rigorous NASA inspection and testing. This NASA-conducted testing will not be focused on the “workability” or the “functionality” of the transmission. NASA has already concluded that Torvec’s infinitely variable transmission meets its specifications. The reason for this is simple ---- each and every other transmission existing in the world today, regardless of nomenclature –be it a step-automatic, a “CVT” or even other IVTs ---- cannot meet the stringent packaging and control requirements dictated by NASA.

NASA’s testing focus will therefore be on the actual integration and compatibility of Torvec’s transmission with the Lunar Rover and its suitability for the rather hostile lunar environment.

This is just one of the many exciting items we intend to share with you at our upcoming meeting.

While the lunar project is an important and serious effort, we do wish to add a rather light-hearted touch to the proceedings. We wish to involve all of you in a little contest, with a suitable reward. Please read on.

Our NASA announcement has generated a lot of excitement, and keeping with that excitement we have commissioned the above cartoon with a missing caption. We invite everyone, except Torvec Inc. officers, directors, consultants and their family members, to supply the missing caption by emailing to the address below their name, address, and a caption appropriate for the cartoon.

The winner will be picked by Torvec’s directors and announced at Torvec’s Annual Meeting. Winner will receive $250 in cash or check.

All entrees must be in by Monday January 22, 2007 to be eligible.
